The Walk On Project, Leap Year & Nursery Rhymes

I got a e-mail from Caty from Circus Day suggesting me to be part of this supporting chain on which several bloggers would be publishing a new entry on February 29th to support Jontxu, an eight-year-old boy, who suffers from Leukodystrophy. Everyone will be spreading the word on their own blog by inviting readers to visit http://www.walkonproject.org/ web page. Some of my friends will be cooking something that remind them to their childhood. Dates do on me. When I see a date, I think of my mom. For instance, Caty has done these delicious meatballs, with no meat on them.... it sounds strange, so visit her blog and she will clarify it for you. Teresa, who is a sweet-toothed person, has done this delicious cake for Jontxu. Yummie!!
I don't want to forget Inés and her fried eggs  a delicious part of the English Breakfast. Don't miss her blog either where you will find a list of some more people who are taking part in the idea. Lots of bread and love with those tempting eggs!

As I am not cooking and the entry should be published on February, and this year is a leap year, we are learning what it is really a leap year.

Nursery rhymes also recall me my childhood; thinking of them plus February, this came along.

January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.

March brings breezes sharp and shrill,
Shakes the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Skipping by their fleecy dams.

June brings tulips, lillies, roses,
Fills the children's hands with posies.

Hot July brings cooling showers,
Apricots and gillyflowers.

August brings the sheaves of corn,
Then the harvest home is borne.

Warm September brings the fruit,
Sportsmen then begin to shoot.

Brown October brings the pheasant,
Then to gather nuts is pleasant.

Dull November brings the blast,
Then the leaves go whirling past.

Chill December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire and Christmas treat.

So, if February brings the rain, then March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers.
